Beauty & Brains

When I first created Erectoman back in 1980, his love interest was Sheila Wetz—a bright, ambitious brunette in her twenties with a steady career, her own apartment, and a life that reflected the everyday reality of a young professional.

As the Erectoman universe evolved over the years, so did its characters. Sheila eventually transformed into Tammy Cumwell, a character who better embodied the outrageous, satirical spirit of Smutropolis while retaining the intelligence, determination, and heart that made her memorable.

Tammy is the headlining exotic dancer at the infamous Sleazy Night Club, where she performs under the neon lights to earn enough money to pay off crushing student loans and cover her share of the rent. Dancing isn't her dream—it's simply the fastest way to stay afloat in a city where temptation, corruption, and absurdity are part of everyday life.

Unlike the glamorous persona she projects on stage, Tammy is thoughtful, well-read, and surprisingly introspective. When the music stops and the spotlight fades, she trades sequins for sweatpants, curls up with a good novel, and enjoys a tall cocktail while imagining a life beyond the chaotic streets of Smutropolis.

Deep down, Tammy longs for something no one else believes is possible: an escape into the real world. To her, Smutropolis is more than just a city—it's a bizarre, oversexualized prison where everyone's fears, fantasies, and vices have taken physical form. She dreams of crossing whatever invisible boundary separates fantasy from reality, convinced that somewhere beyond her world is a place where people can simply live normal lives.

Her growing relationship with Roderick Studinski, the man destined to become Erectoman, places her at the center of an adventure that blurs the line between fiction and reality. While Roderick struggles to survive the twisted digital landscape of Smutropolis, Tammy becomes more than a love interest—she becomes his emotional anchor, his moral compass, and perhaps the one person capable of helping him find the way back home.

Smart, resilient, witty, and endlessly resourceful, Tammy Cumwell proves that beneath the glitter, sarcasm, and neon lights is a woman fighting for something far greater than survival: the chance to write her own story beyond the pages of the world that created her.
